Normally am a brownie kind of girl but just got hit with a HUGE craving. I don't normally make oatmeal choc chip cookies so I don't have any good recipes on hand. I like my cookies fairly dense, soft and chewy, and would prefer that the actual cookie is not very sweet (so I can load up on chocolate chips )
Does anyone have a good recipe? TIA! |

I've been making these, which are similar to the Potbelly oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, but better in my opinion. They're fairly sweet, so you may want to cut the sugar a bit. My family loves these!

I was going to suggest Potbelly. Those are the best cookies I have eve eaten, so I am excited about this recipe. |
| These get raves from my friends; we bake them a lot in our house: http://bakingbites.com/2006/08/cooking-school-oatmeal-chocolate-chip-cookies/ |

This one has peanut butter, too, and I think it may be my favorite cookie ever in the history of cookies.
http://www.browneyedbaker.com/2010/02/24/peanut-butter-oatmeal-chocolate-chip-cookies/ You're welcome. (PS, I use her shaping method mentioned, too, and they make for some very pretty cookies to boot.) I want some right now. |
| The quaker oats recipe is perfect! I like using cranberries instead of raisins, but you could use chips. |

| You can add 3 cups of oatmeal to the toll house recipe and it's pretty good--makes a lot of cookies though. |
This is OP - these ones are in the oven! If the dough is any indication, they're gonna be good! Thanks everyone |
| I went to Potbelly today for lunch because of this thread, which I read yesterday. I usually have a salad for lunch. Thanks, DCUM. (PS, their cookie was really, really good.....and still warm!). |
| How did your cookies come out, OP?! |
