I know I'll get flamed because we just moved out of the DC area so not buying there, but I'm just so excited! We were getting pretty bummed at our housing prospects in DC and we jumped at the opportunity of a fantastic job for DH in a lower COL area. Having been staying at my parents second home now for about 3 months and 2 weeks ago put in an offer on a dream house. They already had one offer in so we weren't getting our hopes up but it is looking good! They accepted our offer that was just below asking price so now fingers are crossed that all goes well in inspection. .
But I'm superstitious and don't want to tell any friends yet until the inspection and everything is done. |
| Congratulations! |
| Awesome! Where are you off to? |
| Congrats! |
Southern NH. Right over the Mass border. DH's new job is about 20 min from new house and once we move and I take the boards, I'm hoping to work at the hospital 10 min away. DS and I are off to visit a daycare close to the house today. After all the hecticness of the last 4 months, it will be really nice to finally be able to plan something stable. |
| Congratulations! Hope all goes well. |
| i am so jealous, congrats! |
| My theory is that the people from the north think dc is cheap and cause prices increases. |
Say hi to my MIL! |
| Congratulations! |

Cool beans OP!
|
| Congratulations OP! That is a great area. What makes it a dream house? Did it already have lots of updates or are you going to do some yourselves? Are there walkable things nearby, or woods? (Just trying to get a feel for what is dreamy in NH) |
| Warmest wishes for your promising new lifestyle! |
| Sounds like the only thing you'll miss is DCUM. |
Place has been immaculately kept up to date. We plan to get a new fridge, oven, and stove because of personal preference. Has 4 bedrooms, 2 baths (one is a large master) plus an office so we will have 2 guestrooms for now and room for our family to grow good school distict. On 1.5 acres of land but lots of other houses and shopping/restaurants nearby. More woods/conservation land for walkability. Dh and i have been living in the city for so long but we are much more quiet suburb type people now! And lets be real. Ive been living in mass for a couple of months and im still addicted to DCUM. I am never going to kick this habit. |
