Wondering how everyone managed!! |
Actually I did this as a kid years ago. Also an immigrant family. Two sets of parents (fathers are brothers) and 5 kids ranging from K to 10th grade. Aunt and uncle had a time share of a 1 BR condo (with built in bunk bed in the hallway) ... In North Carolina and only the bedroom had A/C. I think the grown ups took the bedroom (maybe one had the bed and the other on the floor) the two oldest kids had the bunk bed (8th grader and 10th grader) and then the 3 youngest kids slept on the floor in the living room.
I was in 4th grade and still remember that summer trip now as being a total blast!!! |
We did this a few weeks ago with extended family. Not a beach house but by the bay and with a swimming pool. 10 adults, 8 kids (5 below 4 yrs). There were also daytime visitors too -5 adults. It was great fun!
The swimming pool was a great saver and lots of fun. There were always issues with Food and Cleaning were always. Kids had issues with allergies. There's always someone that will not clean or cook...unfortunately, that person was the one who complained the most too and didn't get up till 11am AND napped in the afternoon. AND complained that we went to the pool without her. Always 2 steps behind everyone. Even with some issues, we all want to do it again next year. oh lord. help me. I was the organizer. |
PP, that sounds great, but I don't think you were in a two bedroom condo like the OP of the thread this is talking about. |
