Buying kids jeans

Anonymous
Embarrassing, but I just bought two pairs of girls jeans online from GAP. Their 16 plus size is about equivalent to a size 10. Two pairs of jeans for $40 is not a bad deal.

Does anyone else ever do this? Of course I'm not going to buy the stuff with glitter on it or cutesy sayings, but for jeans, basic tees/tanks, etc. why not? Not like you can really tell the difference...

I am petite, so I can definitely shop in the kids section. I usually buy my sneakers in the kids section. Great selection and cheaper than the women's. I have also bought ski jackets in the kids section. Basically the same as women's, but again...much cheaper.

In my much thinner days, I used to buy kid's shorts from Old Navy. The women's sizes did not fit me-too big. I've also purchased ice skates in the boy's section. They were considerably less expensive. Why not?

A 16+ in Gap is equivalent to a women's 10 at Gap? I would have guessed a 16 to be closer to a 0 or 2. Do you have really slim hips? And how tall are you? I'm having trouble with the math b/c I wear a 4 in Gap jeans, but that would be a 12+ in girls? Since my 75 lbs DD is a 12 regular in Gap, that doesn't seem possible for my 130 lbs self.

I have a few pairs of children's shoes (women's 7 ~ youth 5). An Old Navy XXL t-shirt that I sleep in.

Nordstrom's Brass Plum (junior's in house brand) is great. BP shoes. BP camis. BP sweater jacket.
