Best bath tub for a 5 month old

Anonymous
Our baby is on the verge of sitting up on his own. We were bathing him in a puj tub which he has totally outgrown. I tried the fisher price whale tub thing and it sucked. He was miserable. Is there a tub that let's water flow in and out or just a tub that works better in the big tub? What do you reccommend? Anyone tried the 4moms tub? Can a child sit up in it?

Get an inflatable tub. They work great. My dd loved it!

By that point, we started using the inflatable ducky tub from Target. We used that until our daughter was maybe 11 months old?

We started using a mesh seat (sitting in the big tub) around 4 mos, and just did quick showers. DS wasn't super into baths anyway, and the seat was much easier than having him slipping and sliding around in a tub. We did that for maybe a year, then switched to just the regular big tub.

try the primo bathtub. My DD used it until she was almost 2. My DS is now using it at 3 months as he's a big kid. He loves sitting in it.

Sucky tub rules. My 14 month old started at 5 months and loves it still.

First Years - use the infant/toddler side (not the newborn one). One nice thing is there's a little space behind the back rest, so when you pour water over head/shoulders, it doesn't spill out of the tub.

You don't need a special tub. Just use your bathtub with not too much water and keep a firm hand on baby.

+1 = No need to waste the time, money or space with anything special. Just put a little layer of water in the bottom of the regular tub for your baby to lay in.

I totally disagree with the people saying to use the regular tub. It's so slippery and not grippy. Plus you'll use way more water than you need. Get the inflatable ducky tub!!

Laundry basket. Don't buy something new just to use for another 2 months or so!

Big yellow bath sponge in regular bathtub. By summer infant, I think, and under $10. Nice, compact and cheap. I hear it works well for travel, too.
