| A love song about a one night stand? Wtf? I mean I like the tune and his voice, but the lyrics are just unreal. |
| I think it's more about staying with someone you aren't in love with, but aren't ready to give up. |
| No, OP is right it's about one night stands. They are a lot more prevalent in the gay community. |
| I figured it was a song about loneliness - you know someone isn't for you, but you could also use their company and don't want to be alone. You can't relate to this OP? Never in your life (one night stand or not)? |
| Who says one night stands can't be romantic? |
+1. To me, it is a song about the emotion that led to the one night stand, not about having a one night stand. |
| It's a pretty sad song in my opinion. Loneliness and trying to find someone but he just keeps ending up with one night stands hoping they will fill that void in his life and then in the morning he realizes they will just leave and that void that was filled last night is now empty again. Kind of depressing. |
| That song drives me nuts because all I can think is he ripped off the song "Stand by Me". |
One night stands? What are you a nun? |
All I hear is Tom Petty's "I Won't Back Down" |
| Yes - that's it - I won't back down!! I wonder if Tom Petty will do anything about it. |
| I really love the song, even if I don't agree with the lyrics |
| His whole album is about loneliness and being with the wrong person. You have to look at the song from a big picture. |
Uh no? What does that even mean. |
You don't think straight people have one night stands. Gays being more promiscuous is a stereotype: http://mic.com/articles/50621/10-biggest-lies-you-were-told-about-gay-men |
