They couldn't be closed for a third day--could they? |
possible delay |
I would have a back up plan for a likely delay, but school eventually opening. The weather will freeze overnight, the roads are likely to be slippery in the AM, but with increasing temps and no more snow/rain forecast, school will be on. I already warned DC not to expect to be off tomorrow. (By the way, between inauguration and MLK and snow days, DC has been off 5 of the last 8 school days. Ugh...) |
It's a two hour delay. |
thanks! |
yup Montgomery County Public Schools will open two hours late on Thursday, Jan. 29. Bus service will be provided on a two-hour-delayed schedule. Morning prekindergarten, morning half-day Head Start, other half-day programs and field trips are canceled. Other activities and programs that begin at 10:30 a.m. or earlier are canceled. Administrative offices will be open on time. Day care programs in school buildings will remain open as scheduled. |
What????????????? ridiculous. it's barely raining. |
Mo Co is huge. My streets are icy and haven't been plowed. Main roads may be clean but you have to understand that a bus runs along the side roads, picking up kids. And HS students are out there before 7 am b/c class begins at 7:25 am. |
and many of the bus drivers travel in the middle of the night from west virginia to get to work |
It's the ice, and the fact sidewalks, etc., have refrozen. There was a huge influx of people in the local ERs due to falls, etc. It's not always about the roads. Not that that makes it any less stressful, though.
