| My DC is a rising senior in high school, and they have received several letters and/or emails from some excellent flagship State universities encouraging them to apply early on a rolling admissions basis. Has anyone had experience doing this? |
| I knew several kids who did this from this area to get into U Michigan or a flagship like that. |
| I also would like to know how this works. Friends have told me to have DC apply to a couple of rolling admissions schools even though DC has no interest in them, just to get an offer early and take the pressure off. Do many people do this? And if DC is way overqualified for the schools (based on Naviance, for example), wouldn't these schools see through that and not make an offer? |

Michigan is early action. Apply by 11/1, decision on 12/15 -same as other EA schools. The admission rate for EA isn't higher than the regular rate (30% overall, lower OOS) but it's good to hear earlier. |
