For example, ex-boyfriend, wife of ex-boyfriend, former BFF, therapist?
Does "everyone" do it? |
| ex-crushes |
|
1. My ex-boss on Facebook
2. An ex-friend who dumped me without saying a word or letting me know why, on Twitter. |

I have 2 ex-boyfriends that I stalk a little. I don't want to get back together with them at all, but I am still curious about them. One is on FB so it's easy to sneak a peek. The other isn't on FB so I google him once a year or so.
I've also googled new friends sometimes - especially if they say something interesting. e.g., one recent new friend had a very non-typical job so I looked it up because I had never met someone with that type of job before. |
Yes - I was dumped with the explanation that she was too ovewhelmed for social interactions. It's four years later, and I see on Facebook that she's had social plans since. |
| Y'all scary |

yeah, mostly the same as above. Ex-bfs and crushes. Old friends and/or nemesis.
My ex-BFF, my college sort-of-one-night-stand and my HS BF have practically zero digital footprint. It is incredibly strange. |

I do.
I'm a runner and there is a guy I met at a race last fall (yes, I've posted about this situation in other forums on DCUM.) So I've "stalked" his marathonfoto (not a typo--it's the name of a company) pics after races...and one time when he and I were in a particularly bad time in our "relationship", I found pics of him with another girl at a race (pics of them posed before the race, running together during the race, etc.) Anyway, I had to do a little research to figure out who she was (don't want to get into specifics, but it wasn't as simple as just looking up her bib number--when I tried that it was apparent that she had bought a bib from a male runner) and then I've been semi "stalking" her. She has a blog that I read, I check out the parts of her facebook profile that she has public, etc. Lol, certainly no harm intended--just curious about who she was, her exact relationship with the guy, how often they ran together, etc. And then her blog ended up being rather interesting to read, so I look forward to her new posts anyway.

| Ex lover. Not on Facebook, but part of a military unit that is so I can see pictures and news. The good thing is I am almost over it because he doesn't look nearly as hot as he used to look. |
| I don't stalk anyone. |
| Sibling's ex and sibling's current partner. Sibling is very toxic and I worry about arrests, domestic violence, etc. |
|
college boyfriend.
I check his Facebook page and google him about twice a year. He friended me on facebook about 5 years ago but I didn't accept. I just didn't want to know the daily goings on of his life--couldn't see what good would come from it. He withdrew his request and I continue to look at his pictures (I can see some) about twice a year. |
| Ex lover, just to giggle at what he looks like now---50+ lbs overweight with a pedophile moustache. So glad I'm no longer attached! |
| No one. I've occasionally googled someone I remember from high school or college, just to see what they're up to, but it's just a one-time thing. Like, oh, that girl I was friends with in English class is a writing professor now, that's interesting. |
| No one. Occassionally I've looked at some old high school classmates profile when they are part of a group (fundraiser for a classmate who lost their home while undergoing treatment for brain cancer) or events (reunion). But it's a one time only look |
