Insurance for annual physicals -- do they have to be at least one year apart?

Anonymous
Generally, does insurance coverage for annual physicals only cover exams at least 365 days apart or is there some wiggle room, such as 50 or 51 weeks?

It may depend on insurance. Our annual exams must be over a year apart.

Depends on your insurance-- some will allow one every calendar year even if a full year has not passed since the last one.

Agree that it depends on your insurance but I haven't seen any lately that allow them more frequently than once every 365 days.

what kind of coverage for lab work do you get with your "free annual exam"? went last year for my annual exam and was shocked to be billed for more than $250 in copays for the labwork, all of which were recommended by the doctor as part of the annual screening. had I realized the cost, I would have turned down all but the thyroid and iron testing, as those are the only areas of concern to me, and I couldn't at all afford the $250.
