Clomid/IUI

Has anyone else been on the Clomid/IUI (w/trigger of ovidrel) protocol and ovulated late in the cycle? This is my first cycle, and I am on Day 14, have a couple of follicles that have gotten bigger than they were on Day 11, but still not ready for the trigger shot. I believe I had 14 follicles in the right ovary and 6 in the left (with 1-2 that look like they are getting bigger). I wonder if Clomid didn't do much for me, as I normally ovulated late in my cycle anyway...They said they will see what my estrogen level is and then assess again in 2 days. Anyone experience something similar? Did you proceed w/the IUI or try again the next cycle with different drugs?

Your RE (assuming you are seeing an RE and not just an OB) can tell you if the size of the folicles is worth continuing. Don't waste your money on an IUI if your folicles are below optimal size. Wait for next month. If after a couple of months you still aren't getting optimal folicles, I would discuss switching drugs or trying something else (like IVF). We did three rounds of Clomid, two resulted in optimal size folicles and one didn't.
