| I'm finding myself lured by Scientology but hesitant due to negative media coverage. What to do? |
| Find a nice church somewhere instead. |
Excellent solution. |
| What about it appeals to you? |
I'm a very logical thinking person. Which makes it hard for me to make the leap of faith required for traditional Religions. |
That is the definition of faith. Believing without a tangible. |
|
Better to make the leap for a newly created religion based on a meidocre science fiction writer's insanity.
Really, it's like L. Ron made it up while surrounded by a cloud of pot smoke just to see how many idiots would believe him. |
|
Why not keep some of your
Money for yourself instead. no! |
| NO! I'm readng a book on it right now. I'll post the name of the book tomorrow. Easy reading but by an award-winning journalist. He lays out everything about scientology and L. Ron Hubbell. |
Does he write about Hubbell's magical telescope that we humans hung in the heavens? |
| The Unity Church might be what you are looking for. More logic and study. Less ridiculous magical aliens. |
| If you're looking for One True Answer, you already believe in religion. You should find one that isn't completely exploitative and maybe at least gives something back to the community. |
But you can make the leap of faith to believe in thetans? Scientology is not a logical religion. A friend who was seeking a more rational experience than his Catholic upbringing found Buddhism met his needs. Perhaps do a survey of various religions to make sure you're not choosing one due to lack of information about others. |
| OP, just start volunteering more to give you a sense of purpose and community. |
| Ugh no - and you certainly arent logical if you believe all the rubbish about aliens. |
