Please help me pack

Anonymous
I am pretty terrible at packing. I usually pack way too much, and then I end up shifting through 15 short sleeve tshirts to find the 1 long sleeved one (or vice versa) for my kid.

So, we are headed to California for one week. Weather.com says it will be a high from 80s-90s with a low of 60-70s. How many tshirts/long sleeved? Shorts pjs or pants pjs? We have a 4 yo DS and 2 yo DD. How many of which items would you bring? Help me out!

OP again. This week they only had highs in 70s. CA weather seems so unpredictable!

10 short-sleeved T-shirts per kid. 3 to 4 long-sleeved layers to go over that - cardigan/hoodie/sweatshirt, whatever. A couple of pairs of pants and the rest shorts, maybe one or two extra of those if potty training is an issue. Short versus long jammies will depend where your staying.

California's a big state. Where in California are you going?

Southern California, Orange County.

Will you have access to laundry? If not, I would probably do a few extra short sleeve shirts for the 2 year old. I know ours can easily go through two shirts in a day. I agree on just a few long sleeved layers each, maybe a couple of long sleeved t shirts, a hoodie and a cardigan for each. For your son, some of his shorts can double as swim trunks. I'd bring pants pjs, you can always put the kid to bed in just the top with a diaper or underwear if it's too hot.
