Anyone else bugged by the fact that Glenarden Woods and Heather Hills (with no comprehensive classes) are in the top 2 and 3 spaces statewide with all the other neighborhood schools much lower down?

Does any other system other than PGCPS put their TAG kids in TAG only buildings? This seems like a really bad policy.

I totally agree theoretically. I suspect they do it b/c it's their only way of keeping these kinds of kids in the public system. Plenty of parents will only do private unless their kids can be in a dedicated specialty/magnet program that keeps them out of 'gen pop'.

Good point from 8:35 about the reasoning why PGCPS has some TAG schools in TAG only building. We sent our children to private. My daughter started attending a "specialty" school last year and my son is attending for this upcoming school year. If the entire school was not specifically focused on this particular discipline, we would have kept our children in their private school.
