| Our dog died in October. She was 13 and we loved her so much. We are looking for a puppy and may have found the perfect match...except she looks exactly like our former pet. Is that too weird? We had hoped to get one with different coloring, but this puppy has everything we want except the coloring. Just worried we will feel sad instead of happy when we look at her. |
| My new puppy looks just like my 12 year old lab that is preparing to pass. I think I just like the look. |
| As long as you treat the new puppy as an individual and not expect it to have the same temperament you are good. I know someone who gets the same breed/look replacement dog like their previous dog and also name them the same. It is sort of weird - but I guess they like the look as well as the name! |
| OP, I think it's awesome. This puppy will try to fill the void caused by the dog's death. |
Our first dog together died at 13. My husband cried like a baby and I expected him not to want another one for a long time. But a couple months later he checked out our breeder's website, and they had a new litter of puppies who were our dog's great-nieces and great-nephews. They were born on the day that our dog died. We chose one and he is seven now. Not our first dog, but our best dog ever. |
How cute. |
