Question about boosters and highchairs

Anonymous
When you guys go to a restaurant where you grab your own high chair or booster, what do you do when you're done? Do you put it back or leave it? The reason I ask is that I always felt like I should put it back where I found it. However, I was thinking about it yesterday at Noodles & Company, and DS made a mess of food all of over the chair. So it got me thinking, should I be leave the chair so that they know it needs to get cleaned? I mean, I can wipe it with a napkin, but its not like its really clean! So if I keep putting the chair back each time, no one is wiping it down and it stays perpetually dirty? But do they even clean it if they are the ones that put it back?

What do you all think?

if i can wipe it off with a wipe i do, and put it back. If its too gross I try to make a point of asking them to clean it. I tip heavily when I go out with my kids and am grateful for any help I get!

I was a waitress for many years and it never occurred to me that customers should return the high chairs to where they are stored. I always figured that families had enough on their hands than to bother moving restaurant furniture around. You are more than welcome to just leave them at the table. I'm sure a quick wipe-off would be appreciated, though!
