Weird after my migraine subsides (with Excedrin to alleviate first), my brain feels "smooth," unstressed, calm peaceful. Lightened up more than my usual self. Anyone else like this?
Is it my body just getting rid of my stress for me versus my mind psychologically always working at it or is it an indication of an illness coming on. Last time I had one this bad, I was diagnosed with cancer. Praying for the best. |
| I don't feel better after a migraine, I get a migraine hangover. Not an expert outside of my own experience, but it seems like migraine symptoms can be different for everyone. |
+1 I get something similar and don't feel better. Sometimes the residual effects can linger for 2-3 days. |
| I also am kind of hungover. Tired and a little slow cognitively. |
| If you feel better, it's probably endorphins. I usually have to sleep so long I feel gross from that. |
|
I also have a migraine hangover.
Hope things are OK for you OP! |
| I only get the visual disturbance, never the headache, and when it passes, I feel really, really good. I have wondered this, too. |
| When I was a child, I felt so much better after finally voiting. Maybe it was just relief from the ordeal before and a sense of exuberance you made it through (endorphin theory)? But as a young adult it was more of a hangover feeling. Seem to have outgrown them since. |
| The one time I had a visual migraine I also felt great after it passed and i was told thats typical. |

Yes! It's not so much that I can think clearer than normal, but I often get a giddy, endorphin feeling after my
migraine goes away. I remember reading serotonin plays a role in migraines, so maybe that's why. |
Yes I get that - the whole world seems lighter, colours brighter. I think its just the contrast to the mind numbing pain that came before.
