Annandale schools

Anonymous
Is Annandale a good neighborhood for families/kids? How are the schools? I have never heard of it before, but in driving through it looks kind of nice.

Annandale High one of the worst in FFX county. I found a house we loved and passed due to the schools.

Hold On!

Our address was "Annandale", but I was a product of Frost/WT Woodson which are (still) awesome schools. In fact, WTW is undergoing major renovation so it should be nice and new very soon.

Yes, there are parts of Annandale which are crummy and I wouldn't recommend, but not all places. I lived just outside of the beltway and the cutoff street was Wakefield Chapel Drive so that is why we went to Frost/WTW.

OP - If you are interested, I can list you the subdivisions and the other boundry streets that put me in the WTW district.

OP here -- PP if you can list the neighborhoods, that would be great.

I know you went to public school -- were there any Catholic schools in annandale?

Hi again,
Truro, Ilda, Canterbury Woods are the neighborhoods between Wakefield Chapel Road and Guinea Road that are technically Annandale, but the kids were in the Frost/WTW boundaries.

The Catholic schools are St. Ambrose (relatively new), Holy Spirit, and St. Michaels. They all have Annandale addresses, but are right there on the Fairfax border. St. Ambrose and Holy Spirit have great CCD classes (I went to HS 1st - 6th grade and St. Ambrose 7-12th grade). I can't comment otherwise since I went to public school.

Hope that helps.
