I will be purchasing school uniforms for my child soon. What stores do you shop at online or in store for the best quality?
|
I've found the best quality overall to be Lands End. The French Toast polo shirts are really nice too.
Gap is good, Children's Place is good, but runs small. Old Navy is cheap, runs small but the quality is not great. DDs school uses white polo shirts and they are usually stained long before they wear out so I tend not to spend much money on them. |
French Toast is your best bet and they really work with you to provide discounts and promotions.
Our school contracts with Flynn & O'Hara so we have to purchase from there.
Target and Burlington Coat Factory are two other options.
Thanks everyone for your responses! I heard that Lands End had pretty good quality uniforms. Their price point is higher than most....but evidently, good quality. And I have recently discovered French Toast uniforms. I have been looking at Childrens Place online. My child's school bottoms are the Khaki color. At Children's Place they don't have khaki, but they have a "biscuit" and "sesame" color. If I were to purchase from this retailer, does anyone know which one of those colors would be closest to "sesame"?
Does anyone know which one of those colors would be closest to "khaki"---Correction from my last post (OP)
If your child is going to public school, I'm guessing that they aren't going to care whether it is biscuit or sesame. Our school is very relaxed about the uniform policy. Navy bottoms and white or light blue tops with a collar are all they look for. Ask other parents to see how strictly the enforce the "official" uniform.
Costco has polos out in various colors this week-- they seem to be good quality.
Either one. One is basically a lighter khaki than the other. |
Thanks to you all for your responses and insight! To the PP who mentioned Costco, I will be stopping by soon to check out their polos!
Lands End for the polos only because we had a special logo with them. If not, I would have purchased the polos from The Children's place or Sears. I generally purchased the bottoms from Sears as they affiliated with Lands End. Their bottoms are the best and they have amazing sales. I believe I have paid $15 or less (sometimes $10) per bottom (slacks and skirts) since they have amazing sales on uniforms several times a year
Thanks, 14:43!!
Last year I went to JC Penney. They had a good sale, and the pants were outgrown before they wore out, which is saying something in my house. I think I got the polos from Target, and they held up fine.
I just bought pants at JC Penney. I am still at the mall in the Apple store reading this blog (I need a life). Their uniform pants are made by Izod. I have been puying them for years. No complaints yet.
