| 3, but just want to add that even at 4 DC is one of the few in preschool who do it, so I wouldn't worry if your kid is not doing it yet. |

I'm this poster. It was very early 4 and it's possible he was doing it earlier in school. One day I noticed he brought home some art from school and his name was on it and it was clear he had written his own name. I have friends who actively work on this with their kids at home, which is great. But that kid might tend to do it earlier. |

No. He's fine. The kids writing their names at 3 are not holding their pencils correctly. That's why the handwriting is so wobbly. |
