| Heading to Baltimore with some friends and wondering about places to eat. Not super expensive please. More like international cuisines, surprising hole in the wall type places. |
| Woodberry kitchen, Eat Berthas Mussells, The Helmand, Amicci's, Vaccaro's for dessert, |
| That's a pretty good list, but I would swap Kali's court/mezze for Eat Berthas Mussels, esp. given the OP's request. |
Really not much in this category. Nickel Tavern is fun and not expensive but not international. Helmand is ethnic and inexpensive. Not a huge fan of Bertha's, John Stevens is better if you want Fell's Point and seafood. Matthew's pizza is good is you like greek style pizza. Birrotecca or the Corner BYOB (wine store next door) or Food Market or Grano or Le Garage if you are willing to go to Hamden. All the newer hot places are more in the expensive category: Wit and Wisdom, Woodbury, Fleet Street Kitchen, Cinghiale/Pazzo/Charleson, Ouzo. |
| Clementine has great food and is not super expensive-although it's more American artisanal (house cured meats) than international. Baltimore just isn't a very good city for hole in the wall ethnic food-there aren't enough immigrants. I lived in Chicago for a number of years and ate so much good and cheap food, but in Baltimore you either get cheap food OR you get good food. |
| Mama's on the Half Shell has good seafood. Be prepared to wait awhile, though. |
| Riptide down in Fells Point has some great food and La Tavola in little Italy is one of my go-to places for dinner. |

If you are in Harbor East area I would stay clear of Ouzo Bay: bad value for your $. Food - nothing special, but very pretentious and overpriced. Service average, not what you expect from a "very expensive" restaurant.
Instead head down the street to Cinghiale - excellent food, service and wine selection for the similar pricing. Oceanaire is really good if you are into seafood and Flemings is an excellent choice for meat-lovers. Wit and Wisdom - go for the nice view, overpriced and interesting cocktails (it's inside Four Seasons for a reason). |
|
I never had crabs at Bo's in canton but always wanted too - I think you can sit outside along the water.
If I was there I would grab a pizza at the pizza and wing factory and bring it home. |
OP is looking for inexpensive options. |
| Not ethnic but if you like beer at all go to The Brewer's Art, try some of their beers and order off the bar menu (not the restaurant area in the back but the lounge area in the front or bar downstairs). Or go to Helmand, it is fantastic. |
| Love Paper Moon Diner. Open until 2 am, cheap, and fun decor. I always take visitors there. |
| The Ambassador (upscale but not expensive Indian) or Johnny's (American). Paper Moon is dirty and gross, IMHO, but maybe it has been spruced up since my last visit. |
or make a reservation |
