You may think I'm nuts, but we got to the point where our children had everything they needed and we opened brokerage accounts for them. When our kids need things we buy it for them, so often times on Hallmark Holidays we make contributions to their brokerage accounts.
Our kids already have everything they need. They don't need anymore gadgets in which they'll be bored with or broked in two days. We believe a brokerage account which may be worth $100k-$200k when they are 30 is a much better gift than the latest version of Candy Crush. |

Here's what my kid would want if it were his bday.
New sneakers (according to my 14.5 year old you can never have too many) Underarmour (again, can never have enough) PS4 and a new game Money for clothes shopping Giftcard for movie/lunch (Gallery place movie and Chipotle lunch) Amazon giftcard (use this to buy/download music on his phone) Playstation store giftcard (uses this to buy/download games on his Vita or PS3) New ear buds |
