Jackson, WY

Hi,

We have a trip booked to Jackson, WY with our 2 1/2 year old son in March. We are planning to go on a sleigh ride through the elk preserve but would appreciate any other activities where we could include our young son.

Any restaurant recommendations are welcome too.

Thanks

Where are you staying? Teton Village, at JH resort, downtown? Sorry, not to be nosy, but we rent our place out there and I'm always curious as to where visitors stay...

If skiing is an option (not sure if you're skiers or if your son wants to try it) definitely do Snow King and JH. The ski season usually goes to Easter so you might have some luck.

Depending on the time frame you're there, West Yellowstone may be open. There are a few snow mobile places, but not sure what restrictions there are with a toddler (and I assume it may be a little too much for him - even a 1/2 day trip).

If my memory serves me correctly, there is a festival-type thing in March. Plus, down town is so quaint with the antler arch, shops, window shopping, etc. that you can easily spend a lot of time walking around.

Snow King usually has their alpine slide set up for spring and summer - a ton of fun, but not sure if March is too early for that (like I said, ski season runs a long time there).

If you're willing to drive about an hour to Grand Targhee you can go on a dog sled tour (1/2 day + lunch). And the skiing there is awesome.
Restaurants:
Bubba's BBQ is awesome. We always bring home bottles of bbq sauce every time we go there.

The Gun Barrel: excellent! The food and service is fantastic. The decor is really cool and entertaining (like being in a taxidermy museum - buffalo heads on the wall, antler mounts, etc.).

The response is getting rather long, so I"ll stop here. Have a good time.

We are staying at the Wyoming Inn.

At this point my son is too young to ski. My husband skis but we will not be doing that on this trip.

Is my son old enough to go on a snow mobile?

I know that he is too young to tube but is there any place where we can just go sledding?

Thanks
