Needing to pee at night - is this too early?

Anonymous
So I am 4 or 5 dpo now and the last two nights in a row I've had to get up to pee in the middle of the night. This is very unusual for me and I haven't been doing anything different as far as water intake goes. I do remember this happening the last time I was pregnant but I wasn't tracking symptoms so I can't remember how early it started (I miscarried at 6.5 weeks though).

Obviously no one can tell me if I have a little bean about to implant but your experiences with this would be great to hear! It seems like it would be way to early for hormones to be causing this...

It is definitely too early; sorry. There is no way at 4 to 5 DPO that you would have implantation and hormone levels high enough to create this type of symptom. It still could be your cycle though!

Too early to tell. Stress, nerves, bladder infection, etc can cause you to urinate more.

Too early to be caused by pregnancy.

+1. It could just be that you're anxious and sleeping more lightly/waking up a lot, then noticing you have to pee -- whereas usually it wouldn't be urgent enough to wake you up, and you would hold it until you got up in the morning.

OP here - it was because we have been eating WATERMELON while watching TV at night. I'm such an idiot, didn't even think about that!

LOL (with you, not at you)

I did not have to pee a lot during pregnancy until I was several months along. It is caused by baby pushing on your bladder, I believe, so I doubt peeing at night now is related. I do wish you luck, though!

OP, lol also. I love watermelon and have had the same effect. On the plus side, it's really good for you and it hydrates and flushes your system

Yes, later in pregnancy the pushing on your bladder does make you have to go more, BUT in early pregnancy there are hormonal changes that make you have to go more. (something to do with faster blood flow) Having to pee frequently is a very common sign of early pregnancy.
