transitional kindergarten

My daughter will be missing the cut-off date to start Kindergarten this coming Sept. She is currenly in a daycare but I am looking for a transitional Kindergarten program in the Rockville area. Any advice ?

| Georgetown Hill, Woodley Gardens campus (in Rockville on Nelson st) has a trans-K class. Love the school. |

| We have DD in Georgetown Hill three at Potomac campus. Love them. considering sending her to rockville campus in two years for K, since potomac only has T-K and Pre-K. |

| My question as well. What is transitional K? Is that Pre-school/pre-K 3? |

T-K is for kids that just miss the cut off for Kindergarten (Sept. 1) and Pre-K is for younger kids, closer to 4 on Sept. 1. Everybody that goes into T-K and Pre-K meets up again at Kindergarten.
We actually just made the choice to keep our daughter in Pre-K instead of T-K at G'Town Hill (Potomac) for next year. She's still a bit smaller than the other kids, and she could quickly be in with 5 y.o., while she is still a small 4 y.o. She wasn't close to the cutoff date. |

to the 1/28 poster in the 3's at GHES Potomac, we are in the same boat. We are considering sending DD up to Rockville for K. We're doing Pre-K in Potomac next year. We're in Room 4. You?
