Yes, that is true. There was a single case that involved divorce. I prefer not to mention which thread.

Holy crap! Yet another reason to reach a separation agreement and avoid court.
My history would be pages and pages and pages. Though, other than my explicit forum naughtiness, nothing that anyone would care about.

Were you served a subpoena for that particular thread, or for the IP address?

Same here. Whenever I hear news stories where they talk about the suspects internet searches/history, I cringe a bit. If I was ever accused of a crime, I would be SO embarrassed at what the police would find on my computer history. Nothing "incriminating" of a crime--just embarrassing.

What good would anonymous rambling do anyone? Doesn't prove a thing. People say all kinds of nonsense on here (I assume).

No. So far I've never been served a subpoena in relation to this website (I was once in a totally-unrelated matter -- damn process server woke me up at about 5 in the morning). In this case, the request was long after the post -- maybe a year or more -- and the IP address was not really helpful. I should make clear that the post in question was objectionable on several levels and I deleted most -- if not all -- of the poster's messages (maybe even the post in question, but I don't remember now). It was not just a case of divorce. It was a case of a someone posting inappropriately who also happened to be involved in a divorce.
