No. She won't. She bit the hand that created her image and that is a fatal move.

The agency was probably in on how she was packaged. They will probably just rebrand her and send her to do some feel good work

How you say, you go girl, in English?

Actually no. A major agency wouldn't do this. As much as you want to believe this is just a teeny snafu and everyone's going to be just okie dokie with it, you're wrong. Blaming the agency was a bad idea.

All my DC’s school did during Thanksgiving was talk about how horrible and mean the pilgrims were and how they stole land from the native americans and how horrible that was. Well, that’s our horrible culture, that’s all we got. We’re awful awful humans.

The facts speak for themselves , don't they ?

No, the facts don’t actually. All the immigrants coming here came from places of peace? They are all peaceful, inclusive, loving people? Why are schools not addressing that? They only discuss how the pilgrims were basically savages and stole all the native’s land. Well, I guess we’re all living on stolen land then. We’re all guilty. If you descended from pilgrims, you should be ashamed of yourself is what kids are being taught.

I agree what she did was sketchy/shady/wrong and she knew exactly what she was doing and is taking no ownership... blaming media, but never having tried to correct this mis information... but she must be having such extreme anxiety with all of this unraveling. So much embarrassment, anxiety over how her husband is reacting to her lies, her brand being upended, and is also taking care of five kids(granted with 5 nannies but still that’s a lot).

Well, the best way to avoid the pain of that humiliation is to not lie in the first place. What did she think would happen???

No kidding, but the punishment in this case is way out of proportion with the crime. I feel sorry for her and while she shouldn’t have lied, I wonder if she actually hurt anyone - or did this to hurt anyone. And in the scheme of things, there are so many awful humans in the world. Hilaria’s not one of them, regardless of her considerable flaws.

While this story is tantalizing, she’s being bullied and savagely ridiculed for no decent reason.

I dunno, I often see bullies defending their ways in this very manner. What gave her a right?

Who did HB bully? Who did she attack? Who did she proactively hurt? She lied and she’s been caught. She created a fake identity which suggests mental illness. [b]She deserves to be called our for the lies, but the rest of the viciousness and cannibalism on this thread and others is gratuitous and pretty horrifying.

Mental health professional here. I'm not sure everyone who creates a fake identity is necessarily mentally ill. I don't know a lot about this specific case, but if there is a big motive (fame and fortune, winning someone's affection, etc.), I think perfectly sane people can be motivated to exaggerate or lie, especially if they think risk of exposure is very low.

You’re in no position to diagnose her. Some people do suffer from delusions and mental health issues that cause them to create a persona that is not attached to reality. She could be a con artist, but in some level, what was underneath that? We have no idea and to immediately assume she was trying to hurt people, is complete speculation.

PP here. I made no attempt to diagnose her. I'm just commenting on the general assumption that people who lie are necessarily mentally ill, which is not true. Some people with mental disorders lie, and some without any history of mental health problems also lie. I can't think of a mental disorder for which lying/creating fake identities is a symptom (although people with personality disorders, especially antisocial or narcissistic PD, may lie or exaggerate frequently).

As a mental health professional, you're likely aware of cluster B personality disorders which often conduct identical behaviors as this, including creating facades, lying, blameshifting, gaslighting. So you're saying people with insecurities do this?

Interesting. The only people who have gone to an extreme in the media to create false personas, lie about it, gaslight and blame everyone else about it have not seemed to be insecure people with otherwise healthy self, but narcissists, etc. What is your take on that then?

See now this is why I can't be vegan and exercise day and night. It would make my brain all cloudy and I might pull this shit too.

Nope. Totally not true. People who are frauds and liars do this, it's not a "oh everyone does this," thing. She won't go away but nobody's going to work with her now. She wasn't that important to begin with career-wise.
