Wasn’t the best player on his team either. That was Danny Maltz.

22 Robo is the VHSL 6 State Player of the Year. 3 was amazing, but 22 won that matchup head to head for anyone that saw that game. He had 1 goal on an unsettled situation.

He didn't set the public school points record, so I guess enough coaches felt they could justify giving it to the guy they voted for.

You also have several reasons, if you agree or not, on why YT3 would not win it. Cases can be made for a few players, he is on of them though.

Also, most of these awards are BS, as there is some horse trading going on during the voting. Give and take to get players in and between 1st and 2nd team. Seen it first hand.

Agree Robo 22 deserves the award - looks like the only D that had any success against YT 3. Not sure who would have the record over him at 150 for the season. Laxnumbers has the records. And this from CNU website on Kevin Miller:

FYI- laxnumbers and MaxPreps only have the numbers that have been added. There are plenty of numbers that have never been uploaded.

Not to mention just about every record in HS is self-reported. Maybe track&field has records that are made in states that VHSL and other states record. And swimming.
