This this is the best list I've seen thus far (though it includes graduate programs and UK) universities:
http://www.bankrate.com/lite/celebrity-money/universities-with-richest-alumni-11.aspx When you cut through all the noise and supposed rankings these are the best if the best. |
| Those schools are in the most expensive places to live and many people and many graduates don't stray far from where they graduated. They are all excellent schools. |
I would have thrown UChicago into the mix with its impressive list of science and business alums. Though not sure of their net worth. |

Whoa, this is a listing of schools with the wealthiest alumni. I don;t see how that equates with "the best." For example, Cal Tech is probably "the best" school for science in the country, but not on the list. And the schools on the list are their because of their niches. Stanford essentially created silicon valley, for example.
NYU is not one of "the most elite universities" either. This may be a list that works for you based on your values and what you think students should get out of a college education (not that most grads of any of these schools are necessarily wealthy). It doesn't work for me. |
I suppose it's "elite" from a wealth perspective, but that's not saying much. Donald Trump is part of the elite from that perspective, but I wouldn't want my children to work for him. |

NYU is a terrific school, but it's not a good fit for most of the suburban midAtlantic flowers from the DMV.
The list is a good list of "power" schools that produce future leaders, but there are many students who don't aspire to leadership. |
If all you care about is rich alumni, then OK. By any other measure, this is a completely arbitrary (and not very imaginative) list. I could have written the list without doing any research. Harvard Biz school #1? Wow, who woulda guessed? |
I suppose that's what makes the list believable, unlike that list floating around that has Deep Springs College as the "best" college. |
