In NOVA is there a place where I can walk down to the Potomac river?

I don't want to swim just maybe set up a picnic in the bank to the Potomac river. Does anyone have directions to how to get there?

You could try River Farm or Roosevelt Island.

Old Town Alexandria is basically at sea level, and there are lots of parks along the river.
There's also Gravelly Point. It's just North of the airport, and you can only access it from Northbounc GW Parkway.

Old Town Alexandria is pretty much entirely waterfront sea level. You can walk from the Woodrow Wilson Bridge, to National Airport (and beyond). Tons of waterfront parks.

another one for old town - there are parks you can set up in, there's also a cafe now on the waterfront, right next to the torpedo factory.
