Family trip to Colorado?

It would be 6 adults and 2 children (aged 1 and 2.5 at that point) - in April of next year. Where should we go? I want outside activities available without a ton of driving due to the young ages of the kids. I also want a lot locally (hiking/wading/swimming/etc).

I don't know if this would be fun with such young kids but we flirted earlier this year with going to Glenwood Hot Springs Lodge in Grand Junction (it's a huge hot springs pool). My dh went as a kid and loved it.

There have been several threads on Colorado the last few weeks. A lot of us already posted on those threads. Search.

Did you mean April or August? April is still ski season in CO.

It's still snowing in Colorado in April. Hope you're not planning on wading or hiking! Kids won't be able to ski yet. I'd re-think this if I were you.

Mesa Verde - Indian cliff dwellings and painting. This is not a recent Native Americans from 300 years ago. These are the groups that were around 1200 AD. Anasazi Pueblo Indians. It is fascinating.
