Is this weird?

Anonymous
I spent a few days at a family members house. Today is the last night I'm in town, and the turn on the TV to watch a show. For the past hour. It's a show that builds on itself...

OMG!

Now they are putting the next episode on.

At least I have DCUM to keep me busy.

Hmmm. Ok. Are you also looking at all the giant tall white people while you are in Washington state?

Maybe they feel like they've said all there is to say and caught up on everything new. You're family - you really want them to juggle for you? Why can't they relax and chill out at night?

No. I'm not in Washington State.

I don't get this. You've been there a few days. They want to watch their "regularly scheduled program" which they look forward to.

Do you need constant entertainment? Are you 4 years old?

Personally, I would be glad for a break.

No, that's not weird at all. That's very very normal.

Not weird. You stay at someone's house for an extended period of time, you are subject to their regular lives, including appointment tv.

If friends are in town for 24 hours, I drop everything. If it is longer there is regular life happening around us...tv, cereal for breakfast, errands...

I could see both ways. I know it's hard to entertain constantly when someone's around and it's good to take time for personal care, whether it's a nap, tv, shower, etc.

But right before a guest is going to leave seems rude to me.
