Self-watering window boxes

Anonymous
We need to replace our old window boxes and I was intrigued by the idea of self-watering ones. Before I invest in them I was wondering whether anyone has experience with them and if they really work. I was thinking of buying the brand below but if you have other suggestions please let me know. Thanks!

I've had lots of self watering planters of different sizes from gardeners.com - they are great. Here's a window box one: http://www.gardeners.com/buy/31-inch-windowbox/34-499VS.html?start=1&cgid=Windowboxes_Cat

I haven't done window boxes but I made all my post self-watering containers. It's easy once you get the concept.

They are great, but you still have to water every other or third day. Just not every day. Worth the extra $20? Depends on how much ou like to water.
