| There are currently 4 days on top of the regular holidays that schools is off. These days are Workdays for teachers and Staff development day. Since Garza's ears are open we should start an initiative to get rid of these days that disrupt students and their family's lives. I propose they move to either the summer or spring break. |
| You are joking right? Teachers deserve a full, long Spring Break, Winter Break, etc after dealing with my kids and all the other kids during school days. Many work during the summer and they deserve free time given the amount of hours they work and the salary they get. One of the few perks they get is a decent amount of days off. Do you want to create the last straw so that eveyr single good teacher leaves for an area with better pay, lower cost of living and a school board that actually cares what they think? |
Dealing with your kids? Don't push off your issues as the status quo. As a parent I don't get spring and winter break off. |
Dramatic, much?
Do you not remember as a kid looking forward to those little "mini-breaks" spread throughout the year? |
I care about retaining the best teachers. Cass sizes have increased and there have been many other changes that make it more difficult for teachers. Don't take away any perks. |
| CLASS sizes (not Cass) sorry doing 3 things at once right now. |
This is the kind of thing that makes people think that some parents are just looking for free daycare. |
| Did I hear correctly last night that there will be only one day for parent conferences instead of two? All other school districts I know have two days both in the fall and spring. |
| If I operated a business with this many days off and disruptions it wouldn't exist. |
| Schools aren't a business. Don't think of them as such. |
One day and not on the Tuesday due to Election Day |
|
Is there a link to the new schedule for next year?

That was easy. |
Thank you! I had looked, but couldn't find it. |
Nov. 3 and 4 are student holidays. Are those not the days for conferences? |
