Just bought a frozen cake (not an ice cream cake) for a party tomorrow. Now what?

I just bought a frozen single-layer red velvet cake with cream-cheese icing to serve at a party tomorrow afternoon. It's a regular cake that has been frozen, not an ice-cream cake. What do I do now? Leave it on the counter overnight (in our warm kitchen)? Leave it in the freezer or refrigerator until tomorrow? I don't want to serve "frozen" cake.

Give it to me. That tie dye cake picture is making me crave cake.

I think it would be fine on the counter overnight. If you're worried about the kitchen being too warm, you could thaw it in the fridge over night and take it out first thing tomorrow morning.

OP here, thanks for the tips.

I would thaw it tomorrow - it wont take long to thaw a single layer cake, maybe 2 hours at most.
