Sort of Political - Volunteer with a 3 year old?

Anonymous
I know this sounds sappy, but I really want to do my part to help out right now. I may not be as well off as some folks on this board, but I feel very blessed to be in a fairly recession proof part-time job, have a husband who just started a new job with a sizable raise, have a roof over my head and some money in the bank. I really want to do some community service, but have found it hard to find things I can do where I could bring my daughter along with me, as I don't have a lot of time without her (my husband is also in school part-time).

Does anyone have any ideas for things I could do to with a 3 year old? She's very friendly, but super active - not a sit on the floor with a book and crayons kinda gal.

Hope someone has suggestions for me - THANKS!

Will she help you cook/serve with you in a homeless shelter? Help pick out toys to donate to kids in need? Run a drive and get her to help you organize - there was mention on another board of a diaper/layette drive.
