Paint Colors

Anonymous
After decades of living in all-white walled apartments, I finally have a house to paint any way I want! It is currently painted a color that I think is called Richmond Bisque. It's fine, but kind of boring and does not reflect my personality. I really like rich, bold (but not crazy) colors. The house has a semi-open floor plan--when you're standing in the kitchen, it is completely open to the dining area and you can also see a chunk, but not all, of the living room.

Any tips on colors/color scheme? I know I don't want all the rooms to be the same color--how do I do this while having them flow together? FYI, green is my favorite color and I'm almost set on doing the dining room some type of deep green color. We get a pretty good amount of light throughout the house.

Thanks for any guidance anyone can give me!

I love these Sherwin Williams palettes. If you pick a whole home palette it will be much more cohesive than just picking colors randomly that you like.

There is a woman at the Bethesda Stosnieders who helped me pick/coordinate colors. She is AWESOME!!! Asked me about the feel I wanted, lighting in rms, etc. She helped me pick 2 colors and they look GREAT!!! I had to pick a color for a bathroom and a 2 story foyer in about an hr (long story). I felt overwhelmed and frustrated (I like to try samples, etc) but she was there when I got there, helped me right away, made it fun.... and I am sooooo pleased. The help is free at the store. I took a business card though and will definitely call her when we get a new place!! I think her name was Carla, or something similar. Don't have card w/ me.
