I had sticker shock when I went to Montgomery Mall yesterday to replace my sunglasses. Apparently $100 is the low end for sunglasses now. I guess I had better start treating them more carefully. Any suggestions for cheaper but still durable/attractive options?
TIA! |

REI has a brand called Suncloud that I really like - about $60. I think they have some cheaper styles too.
Also, try the juniors dept. at Nordstrom - lots of cheap stylish ones there. |
| Ann Taylor Loft. I have pairs from five years ago. Not a huge selection, but I've always had good luck there. Nordstrom Rack might also be an option. |
| Nordstrom Rack. Got my Cole Haan sunglasses there for $37 and Fendi ones for $70 |
| Are you looking at polarized? That jacks up the price, but it's worth it to me now. When I was younger, I never felt I need it, though. |
| Ann Taylor Loft - nice quality, no sticker shock. I lose mine too frequently to spend more than $50-75 on them! |
| Costco |

| Shelves and shelves of them at Nordstrom Rack in a range of styles! I just bought 2 pair of polarized sunglasses at $25 each! |
| I got an amazing pair of sunglasses for free with an issue of Tattler magazine the other day. I truly believe the only thing you're paying for is the label with expensive shades. I've bought shades at every price point and in general, the quality really does not vary that much. |

I second Suncloud. They are not inexpensive, but they are polarized, 100% UVA, UVB, and UVC (not even sure what this one is). I wear them for biking, skiing and sailing, where quality makes a noticeable difference, as well as general driving around town. I ordered a bunch from Zappos and kept what fit and suited me.
If you don't care about any of that stuff, go to Target. I have some more fashionable sunglasses from there that are fine, except they don't fit in the glasses compartment in my car.

Thanks for the tip! But I suppose it's useless to go there now... the shelves have been picked over by DCUMers
