How do you transport sliced watermelon?

Anonymous
I would like to take sliced watermelon to the pool and barbeques this summer. I confess that I have not done this before. What type of container works best? I would like to get a big watermelon, and slice into pieces and transport the slices.

This helpful tip was in that thread, but I can't find a watermelon transporter anywhere. Does anyone know where to get one? Otherwise, I guess I will go to target and look for a large tupperware container. I don't have anything large enough.

I use the watermelon transporter I bought at a friend's watermelon transporter party. Honestly, I might start selling them myself. You just ask your friends to a party and they buy these watermelon transporters from you. Fun and easy easy way to make cash.

While tupperware is best, sometimes you don't have a large tupperware container that fits the slices or it takes up most or all of the cooler. I've found that putting 2-4 slices of watermelon in gallon ziploc bags works well. The bags are a lot more flexible for fittin in and around other things in the cooler.

That's a great idea, I will try that. Other people said foil, but I think that would leak.

How about cutting it into cubes for easy eating? Put it into any container. Eat with forks. Easy peasy.

I love these threads. They make me feel like a friggin' genius because I am able to figure out how to transport watermelon, and other mundane things, all by myself.

Because you possess common sense?

I would get three estimates from companies that operate refrigerated trucks to transport the watermelon. I've heard that sometimes the county coroner will rent you their van for cheap (when they aren't busy). Other than that I would have to ask the fire department or inquire with the fire department?

Has to be a troll. What kind of moron doesn't know how to put watermelon in a Tupperware container? Scary.

You should use a box type container.

I've heard you can order watermelon online from Costco (minimum order of 5 watermelons). Ask them to slice it and wrap it for you, and then send an Uber to pick it up and deliver it to the pool
