Seeking office space for private practice counseling - where to look?

Anonymous
I keep checking out Craigslist for office space in DC, but am wondering if there are other sites that are better suited to helping me find the right spot for my private practice? TIA!

Falls Church has a big counseling center on Washington Street where you can rent individual spaces. Also, many apartment buildings in DC have medical spaces available for rent. DC allows this use in a residential building.

OP here, looking in downtown DC/Dupont, but I am asking for what websites offer this kind of info, in addition to Craigslist?

There's a good number of offices available in that area. What are your needs? Can you have an office within a small law firm?

Main needs: window, solid door (e.g. no windows to the interior of the rest of the office), quiet (really, really quiet - my current space is noisy), access late at night and early in the morning.

for counseling, I'd look at the Psychology Today listing and sort by location. You'll see similar addresses pop up.

Private practices often are metro accessible and/or have good parking. Many apartment buildings have these practices. If people can't get to you conveniently, they won't come to see you no matter what you're specialty.

Most of the space I looked at I found through craigslist, maryland Psyc association, or various listservs I'm on. The DCtherapistconnect (formerly dctherapistmoms) always has listings. Psyc today also has classifieds but I think you have to be a member to access them. I'm looking to sublet, but my office is on bethesda so that doesn't help you.

Do you know how much space you need?

A bit north of Dupont, but the apartment buildings on CT Ave across from the zoo entrance have multiple commercial/office spaces in them. Many counselors have offices there. It's the apartment building right by/above the yogurt place and Starbucks. I think they have a rental office on the first floor.

Check out 1350 Connecticut Avenue

Contact a real estate brokerage like CBRE. They can run comps through Costar for you and arrange tours of spaces that match your criteria.

Highly suggest it be metro accessible.
