Infertility Support and Discussion

Anyone have a good experience with a particular nurse at Shady Grove (DC office)? Mine seems nice enough, but she is not good about responding to emails or voice mails when I have questions about my treatment. We are about to shell out a large sum for their shared risk program and I'm sure once we pay all that money we'll find her lack of responsiveness even more aggravating. I am not sure if I will be able to switch to someone else but I am contemplating asking my doctor to reassign me. Any recommendations?

| I didn't love my nurse (at the fair oaks location) and after awhile, anytime I needed something, I emailed my doc. He got on the nurse right away to get back to me. I really think they give their nurses too large a caseload...given everything they need to do |
| I'm happy with Cerone in the D.C. office. I switched from Alyssa because she didn't seem very responsive or on top of things. My friend liked Jennifer, but when I talked to her on a day that my nurse was out I wasn't impressed - I felt like she was dismissive of my concerns and just wanted to check me off her to-do list. |
| I have Laura in the DC office and she returns calls the same day or the very next morning, seems very responsive thus far. She has also been proactive with drug related issues, going as far to order one of the drugs though a mail order pharmacy once she heard that my insurance wouldn't cover the cost and she knew that out of pocket charge at CVS would be higher. I was very impressed with that! |
| My nurse (Doreen) at the Annandale practive is nothing but AWESOME!!! She doesn't do email though. She returns all my calls promptly and is very attenitive to my concerns and worries. |
| Our nurse is Monica (S.G. office) -- it is had to get her by telephone before 3:00 pm, but she returns all messages after 3 pm and is very responsive via email. |

Nurse Dew Jemandre always returns my call within the same day, usually within hours. She never answers the phone though - just returns calls.

I agree. I think Annandale in general is a better office. We switched from DC to Annandale and are much happier. Parking is also free & easier to find. |
| Truthfully I have had bad expirences with all of the nurses in Rockville, none of them act like they care at all or maybe I am interupting their coffee break or something...The 2 J's that stick out as being bad were Jan and Joan both completly cluless. |

Since I haven't been to the DC office, I won't make recommendations, unlike most of the posters in this thread. I will say my nurse, who I love, in another SG office, was assigned to me. I believe each doctor has a certain nurses that they work with primarily. So your nurse is dependent upon your doctor.
I hope more people, that have actual experience with the DC office, can help you. |
