They have already trademarked a whole slew of other names/variations on the name. Don't celebrate yet, they will find a way to make money.

they will tie it up in court for years and the team will still suck
apparently there was a technicality in the case so they should win on appeal but who cares they will always suck live in the past and remeber the good ol days but 30% of the population have never seen the redskins win a super bowl........soon it will be 40 then 100% |

Wow. This was pretty surprising.
I'm a native Washingtonian, but refuse to support the home team with their current name/logo. This is long, long overdue. |

It's not that surprising because it has happened twice before, and hasn't survived appeal. |

| This already happened once before in 1999 and they appealed and in the federal district court, it was overturned in 2003. And it was never in force during the years of appeals. So, I woudn't cheer or jeer about it yet until it makes it's way through the appellate courts. |
