Where to go with two toddlers and a dog for the month of August?

| Looking to travel for 3/4 weeks in August with family. Would need to take our dog with us so would need to be within 5-7 hours of driving distance from DC area. Been searching everything from beach houses in Delaware to Outer Banks, Deep Creek, NYC.... any ideas....ideally need a 2-3 bedroom home close to activities for kids and dog friendly. Would spend between $3,000-6,000 for the month (hoping to stay closer to $3,000 though!) TIA!! |

Not the beach but Massanuten would probably work. Check out home rentals on vrbo or other sites like it.
Maybe Williamsburg, VA or even some Chesapeake Beach area homes. |

| yes I was going to suggest Massanutten. Rent a house from an owner, and you can do the water park and/or swimming pool, plus there is horseback riding, petting zoo, adventure park, etc. in the vicinity. |
