HIIT recommendations

Anonymous
I'd like to integrate some HIIT into my regular workouts, and would love recommendations. I'd like something I can do at home, with minimal, if any, extra equipment. I don't need something that offers a weekly package; I'd like to keep my regular hot yoga and runs with the double jogger, just want to add some new things, too. I've looked at Insanity and P90X, but am loathe to spend that much money on something up front.

If you have ideas or programs that you love, please tell me about them--thanks in advance!

You can find HIIT workouts online that you can do with the stroller (eg sprint 30 sec walk 1 min, then repeat).

Thanks, but I'm specifically looking for non-running HIIT. I have an interval program on my phone which I use from time to time, but want other exercises to supplement the running.

Download Nike Training Club. You will love it.

I like the workouts from 21 day fit. They are 30 minutes each and 10 minute abs one. They are intense, and have short recovery segments built into them.

I've found a few good ones by searching online. I don't remember all the websites, but I think I got some from fitsugar.com, fitnessblender.com, fitfabcities.com.

Every now and then I also do 2-3 rounds of the "7 minute scientific workout" that was published in the NYT a few months back.

I like ones where you alternate 30-60 seconds of hard cardio, like burpees, high-knee running, or jump squats, with strength exercises like squats, push-ups, etc.

I also like Tabatha 20 -10 interval workouts.

Turbulence Training by Craig Ballantyne and Visual Impact by Rusty Moore (both e-books available online for $20-$40, depending on promotions). Both are excellent.

http://www.builtlean.com/2012/12/18/hiit-treadmill-workout/

It is for treadmills, but I think can be adapted pretty easily into running with a jogging stroller (assuming you can sprint with the stroller).

I love that website generally. Lots of good information.

I think (tho I'm no expert) the key to HIIT is to get your heartrate up to 85% (or something like that) for a few minutes at a time and then backing off (and doing that over and over again for 30 minutes or so).
