Instacart - Anybody use this same day grocery delivery service?

Anonymous
I stumbled over a story about Instacart - their start up raising a bunch of money from Andreessen Horowitz venture capital to provide same day grocery shopping and delivery - sometimes within 2-3 hours. Not sure what the catch is but the order I just put in was free delivery, usually $3.99. Smartphone armed shoppers, menu with replacement options if your item is out of stock. Has anybody tried this?

I've used them a couple times and was very happy with the service. The only thing to think about is that they set their own prices, which might be higher or lower than what you'd pay if you did your own shopping. But you can't beat the convenience!

I've used them. The delivery was double the $3.99 I read about, too. Plus i had orders from more than one store, and the delivery fee is for each store. They also mark up the products they deliver. So all in all, it is very convenient if you are rich but I can't justify it on my budget.

I usually shopping myself but I did it recently when both kids were home sick. Definitely worth the upcharge in a situation like that. But I wouldn't use it for my everyday shopping.

I feel like I get all of that from the harris teeter drive up grocery service. Yes I have to go to the store, but i don't get out of my car. Plus I get charged in store prices, no markup. I also get called with offers to substitute when they are out of something.

They do this with Instacart too, but unfortunately the only reason I had sent to them to one particular store was for the item I requested and the rest was all filler. It wasn't their fault the store was out of the item though, I'll give them that.
