$150 budget for a gift certificate at a restaurant: what do you recommend?

Fun but middle-aged couple; into food but not extreme amateur-chef-foodie types. Recos for a good place in DC? Something on the fresher side (so not Vidalia, which I love but let's face it is not cutting edge).

Thanks!

+1 on all of these great choices.

Few other options: Restaurant Eve, CityZen, Roberto's 8, Range, Komi, Rogue 24, Corduroy, Proof.

OP here. Thanks, these are great! Prefer a place that takes reservations; keep the recos coming!

I would not do CityZen or Komi. Pick a place where $150 covers an appetizer, 2 alcoholic drinks, 2 entrees, and a dessert + tax. They should be paying the 20% tip, if that.

We got a wedding gift of $250 to Citronelle and while it was amazingly generous and a super fun night - we had to spent more than $250 to use our gift card.

Also don't pick a place where it is impossible to get a weekend reservation unless you can arrange one on a suggested date that they can change if needed.
