We made reservations for embassy suited on the Canadian side. Got great reviews on TripAdvisor.

If you want to stay on the US side and you don't mind driving a little the Adams Mark in Buffalo, the Hyatt and Salvator's Garden Place Hotel.

Embassy suites on Canadian side. Great view at breakfast!

Embassy suites on the Canadian side was wonderful. Spring for a room with a view of the falls. We left the curtains open and went to sleep looking at the falls from bed. They were the first thing we saw when we woke in the morning...it was great!

Definitely stay on the Canadian side and don't bother with the "falls view" rooms. You do see the falls from the room but IMO it's not worth the extra money because you are so far away and it's like a postage stamp. We stayed at the Holiday Inn and it was ok, nothing fancy and not spectacular but just fine for us. If I were to go back i might get a nicer hotel but really you spend most of your time outside anyway.

If you have some time definitely check out Niagara by the Lake for restaurants and shopping.

PP, if you stayed at the holiday inn without a falls view, how do you know that the view was "so far away it was like a postage stamp?" I'm the pp before you that stayed in a falls view room at the Embassy Suites and that is not an accurate description of the view from our room.

We had a falls view at the Embassy suites and it was an amazing view and not at all a postage stamp. It was a breathtaking at night and in the morning. So worth it.

We stayed at the Hilton Fallsview on the Canadian side. We got our room on Priceline, and when we checked in they offered us a room with a view for an extra 40 bucks. It was well worth it, and I'm not the type to pay for extras!! My husband and the kids and I spent a whole lot of time looking at the falls from our room. Not postage stamp-like at all!
