Bottega Veneta handbags

I notice that this is the new it handbag. Do people really pay $1800+? or are there similar looking bags at cheaper prices? Just curious... I did not even know what the brand was until I googled it.

They've been around forever, especially for those who don't like obvious labels.

Beautiful leather bags. Don't own one.

Sorry, I'm too hard on my handbags. I would never buy a handbag that expensive.

I have one and love it because it is well made and has no logos. I realize that the style of craftsmanship is its own logo, but I prefer to not have names on my bags. Paid 1350 for a small crossbody but plan on having it for yeas. Rather have less bags that I keep than more cheapies.

Yes they are beautiful. I have 3 of them. The deerskin is especially wonderful, durable, and "chewy" in texture. There are always similar cheaper styles that imitate the weave of BV, but the leather is no where near the quality.

I love these bags, but I have not found them to be particular durable, perhaps because the intrecciato leather is so soft. I've had my reconditioned through the store, and they never look as good as new. For some, that may be part of the charm.

This,is PP- I agree about the intrecciato leather being more delicate. I do find the deerskin quite durable. I love them both either way

I am hard on my handbags as well. I have a Gucci bag that I have used every day for a year and it still looks great. I have never owned a bg that has held up that well. However, the reason I have never owned a Bottega Veneta bag is because it did not feel very sturdy to me. The leather is lovely, but did not feel very durable.

That link didn't work but I have a woven bottarga Venetia bag from 5-6 years ago that has held up amazingly well and I haven't had anything done to it. It is sooo soft and the color hasn't faded at all. We'll worth the investment.

Oh god, auto correct! Haha.

I have an older version of the nero intecciato nappa bag (2008, I think) and it is beautiful, so soft.
