GCM and GT/SN children

I still have a year ahead but I need to start planning ahead. DS (GT/ASD/ADHD) will be a GCM freshman in 2015-2016. Right now he attends Kilmer. There are some hits and misses here and there but he is an Honors student, great with math and science. DH and I are at odds whether he should go to a large public HS vs. a smaller, academically rigorous private school to prepare him for college.
How well (or not) does that school work with kids like him? Are they encouraged to pursue a rigorous curriculum? What is the special ed department like? |

| Bump. I too have a gifted SN child and we are also supposed to go to GCM next year. Want to see if we should continue with private schools vs. GCM |
