| I'm talking about JUST the song. Not a fan of the show (but young JT was SOOO hot). I think it was sung by the guy from the Lovin Spoonful. The song is just very evocative for me of a past time. |
| I don't know if I'd say I love it, but it's catchy and I know all the words. It will probably go through my head all night now. |
| I remember when the show came out how popular the song was. I loved it back then but not as much now. It does remind me of days gone by. |
| I just want to add, "Up your nose with a rubber hose." |
| I do love it. |
|
Of course. "Welcome to Brooklyn. America's Fourth Largest City."
John Sebastian is the guy's name. |

The sound and opening title sequence and background always depressed me, even as a little 8 year old. So, in retrospect, I guess that song paints a visual picture and conveys so much in 30 seconds.
Whatever you do, do NOT google a video of the original singer and songwriter performing this song fairly recently. Talk about depressing...time marches on for all of us! |
| Check out the Mase cover. That's my jam! |
Oh wow, I totally forgot about that quote! Funny! |
| I forgot how the song went and just had to google a youtube of it. But of course, yes, now I totally remember! I liked that show! |
| Love that song! |

I used to love that song as a kid. I am 45 now by the way.
I also used to love "The Love Boat" theme song. I used to tape record it and blast it on my 1970's tape recorder sitting on my porch outside during the summer. Gee...I am surprised none of my neighbors squirted me with their hoses for that. I would have. |
The Love Boat theme song was always my cue to start daydreaming about my the fanciful, exotic, and "rich and famous" life I'd have as an adult! Just thinking about it now brings me back to that daydream. |
| Yes, it always makes me feel good. Evokes a good period for me, and happy thoughts. |
